Marquez, the clairevoyant

This post is about one of my favorite writers. Jorge Luis Borges used to write short stories in the cafe where I was.  His short stories are loved by scientists because they sometimes deal with the notion of infinity.  I started writing a short story of how friends would open Love In The Time of Cholera at random to answer questions about their future... I still daydream of finishing that story :-)

Continuing in the Borges theme, this bookstore is named after one of his stories. Can you tell I am a book nerd?

Tango, Clubbing and Shakira

This is me with my tango instructor at the National Academy of Tango. The third step of the beginner basic was so sexy that my jaw dropped... Now that's a dance!

Here we are seeing Tango in the street.  They are just a little better than me :-)

My grandmother (abuelita) loves a song by Carlos Gardel called "Caminito". This photo is for her.

Here I am at a Sunday afternoon milonga where the crowd was very experienced. I danced with an older lady who complimented my basic step. She made my day!

When traveling we find many partners in adventure, some of us are still facebook friends :-)

We knew we went to a cool club because the Black Eyed Peas came after they finished their concert (not pictured).

Oh yeah, Shakira was also in town. The advantage of being surrounded by fourteen year old girls is that I was taller than them.

Shakira's stage presence and dancing was awesome. She sang in Spanish and mostly her old songs. We all knew them!
